Since just before Christmas my family has been dealing with some health issues related to my three year old son. With these issues a lot of time was spent in doctors rooms and Princess Margaret Hospital in Perth Western Australia. Now everything is fine and all over with and I have a happy healthy three year old on my hands but the experience made me think alot about myself and how I see my photography. The walls of the doctors offices and the hospital were fairly bare and I couldn’t help but think that the beauty of nature photos could really bring an uplifting even healing feeling to these places.
I began to research healing effects of photography art on people in hospital and came across this wonderful foundation that was donating or asking for donations to put healing images into hospitals to bring calm and stress relief to patients, family and staff alike. The Foundation for Photo/Art in Hospitals is a wonderful cause and I wanted to contribute. I immediatley set about sending some images to Elaine Poggi the founder to see if they would like to use one in their cause.
Out of the images sent my “Every cloud has a silver lining” image was chosen
I am really excited about this addition to the cause and would love everyone to go and take a look at it on the site and the fantastic work they are doing the link to the website is as follows http://www.healingphotoart.org and the facebook fan page is http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Foundation-for-PhotoArt-in-Hospitals/139862948933?ref=ts
To add to my excitement the next day I was asked by Heather O’Sullivan of Heather O to use the very same image in her marketing for the next 2010 vision courses you can find this fantastic course details with the image pride of place at the top here http://heathero.com/2010-vision/ Heather has been a great mentor to me in striving to find my passion and be true to myself . I highly recommend this course it has helped me tremendously and brings me blogging happily to you ..lol.. so take alook at the course and all Heather has to offer she also has a fanpage you can find here http://www.facebook.com/RealHeatherO?ref=ts
Exciting times ahead and the focus of healing power of nature photography has me going in so many new and uplifting directions can’t wait to share the journey with you all.
Remember to every day look up and out at the world and see the healing beauty of nature and if you can’t take time to look at one of my precious native images to take the stress out of your day : )
