Revisiting My Passions

Today on my face book page was the first post on the new format for Sunday’s … called “Rainbow Farm Writings”  which will be bringing to the attention of the page all the wonderful posts on this blog.

In starting this off I did a little bit of memory lane and went looking through all the old posts going back to one of the first which was a post on what I wanted to do with this blog and what my passions were.  You can read it all  … HERE .. this post was done all the way back in 2008 when my children were so young.

This got me thinking how things had changed and how I had grown since this post over two years ago.

What are my passions now??

Well there is still one constant in life and that is my children … Miss Jennifer is 6years old now and a confident smart grade one student loving life and loving her mum just as much.  Master Robert is 4 years old now turning the big 5 in December and he started kindergarten this year which has changed my world having free time without children .. he is loving school and is a real little boy.

Kids joining Mum to take shots of the Sunrise

I still mainly take “happy snaps”  of the kids and have found that is when I am most happy taking photos of them to have them posed and staged it feels unnatural to me and have no desire to go professional in the people portrait arena not to say that I won’t do them for friends and family .

The change in my passion from 2008 is the development of my love of the sun the sunrise in particular because that is the part of the day that I can be at peace with the world and get out while the kids are still sleeping and the rush of the day is yet to begin.. To go out and breath in the joy of nature and the beginning of a new day is so inspiring and uplifting .. relieves stress and sets me up for anything to come in the day.

I still take landscapes and other nature images but I know that I will be there every morning rain or shine to attempt to get an amazing shot of the sunrise this is now a routine and it feels great also being able to share with everyone these images and customise them with wording for special occasions such as birthday or wedding and also a new sideline in letter art photography is keeping me busy.  Allowing myself to see my uniqueness and the joy I get from taking mainly sunrise shots has show the passion I have for it and hopefully will grow into a profitable business in the years to come. My journey is taking me through many stages and where ever it takes me I will be happy to go as long as I am enjoying what I do and follow the passion.

I urge everyone to take the time to find what they are truly passionate about and follow it you may not be able to do it full time as a career just yet but don’t let that bury it to you keep the dream alive and work towards it.

I thank everyone who has supported me on my journey and hope you continue to follow my journey and enjoy the healing power of the images I share they are there to bring you joy.

“I urge everyone to take the time to find what they are truly passionate about and follow it you may not be able to do it full time as a career just yet but don’t let that bury it to you keep the dream alive and work towards it.”

    • thanks Penny that day my daughter Jennifer was dancing around at sunset and a lucky snap at the right time brought the image about and it was so inspiring to see her with no cares freely living her life and the words just came to me .. I actually have this as my desktop background at the moment
