Living on a farm has its many beautiful and amazing joys but there is also a price for all that nature and beauty.
There are many dangers having beautiful bushland so close to the Rainbow farm house and unfortunately we here at Rainbow farm felt this danger too closely Thursday this last week.
Who knew that when I saw that Robin I mentioned in last Sunday’s post “All before 7am on a Sunday” that the change on the way would be such a big one.
During the late afternoon/ night on Wednesday our beautiful Miss Ellie must of cornered a snake under the bushes in the back yard.
When I awoke on Thursday morning it was with great sadness that I found Miss Ellie already passed away sleeping in her usual spot out the front of the house. She looked peaceful and undisturbed so I don’t think she suffered too much but it was a terrible loss.
It is so hard to lose any loved one so suddenly and in the prime of their lives.
Miss Ellie was one of the family she was my child yes a furry one but my child all the same.
I probably had more contact with her than any other member of the family because she was always here for me even when the rainbow farm kids were at school or at their fathers.
I am now experiencing the aftermath of hearing and seeing her when I know she is gone and going to do things for or with her then remembering she isn’t here anymore. It will take some time to get over and you go through that terrible time of not wanting to get over and forget.
To some she may of just been a “dog” but as with all my dogs that have come and gone she will be remembered and grieved for and I am so lucky to have had the passion for photography so I have many images of her to remember her.
Here is a little video I have put together of all those beautiful memories with Miss Ellie ..
I urge you all to make sure you have some good photos of your animals they are your family and you will cherish them after they have gone.
My goal to publish a book by the end of this year has now taken on a new turn with the new goal to make that book one dedicated to Miss Ellie and to put her into the hearts of children everywhere to be forever remembered for her wonderful personality and how she made all our lives better.
She is now up there playing with all the beautiful Dogs that have gone over the Rainbow Bridge and I know she is happy.

I was blessed to not only meet Miss Ellie, but to share a little snuggle on the sofa time with her too. Beautiful, gentle girl. I love how you have so many smiley pictures of her to help keep her alive in your hearts.

Sending you huge hugs Coralie. A dog is never ‘just’ a dog – she is an angel, a best friend, an expert in cheering up/supporting/loving unconditionally. It’s beautiful that you’re dedicating your book to her. xxxx
