What a month March was

After a crushing end to February when we lost Miss Ellie March turned out to be a very busy month. Being busy was a good thing less time to miss Ellie.

If you missed the news on Miss Ellie’s passing the blog post is HERE

We also brought our new kindred spirit into the home with Billy a beautiful soul who is learning slowly to trust again after such a traumatic start to his life. He is so funny how he bravely barks at every new person that comes into his life but makes sure he keeps his distance.

You can learn more about Billy’s arrival in the blog post HERE

I was excited to announce a new range to Rainbow farm photography during March which was the Wall and Door Murals.

I love them they are so big and beautiful and a great way to decorate a big area or even a small area like a toilet or bathroom wall.

you can find out more about the Wall and Door murals in the blog post HERE

In March I also got to babysit my friends BIG sooky german shepherd Jersey

She is such a loveable soul but she had young Billy put in his place. They loved playing together and going for walks in the bush it was the only time that Billy would leave my side was with Jersey.

PP billy and jersey

They had many adventures in the time she was with us the most traumatic being when Jersey decided if her mum wasn’t going to come get her she was going to go find her mum and took Billy along with her. I came home with the rainbow farm kids late one afternoon and they had got out through the fence and taken off and as it was nearly dark after a hour of searching we had to go through a worrying night of not knowing where they were.

Jersey is not a young dog and I worried she would not make a long walk and it was a cold night and then I worried that if someone did find them Billy would not go to anyone and would be so scared.

Luckily in the morning I was able to track down where they were and I had been right that Billy had been so scared that the man that found him took him straight to the ranger and Jersey was kept with the people and they took her back to her mum’s place which ofcourse was empty.

I collected them after a hefty jail fee for Billy and bought a chain for Jersey to keep her home when we went out .. they were fine when we were home but went looking when not home.

Jersey is happily back with her mum now and my Dad has been round and fixed the fences. Billy is happy to stay close to me again and doesn’t venture far.

We had some stunning sunrises during March also a few rainy days where there wasn’t a sunrise which I always feel a bit sad about.

Here is a snap shot of all the favorite sunrises for March

Loving being busy and enjoying the wonderful healing and inspiring power of nature and being able to bring it to you to have in your world to forever energize you and your family.

Memories forever keepsakes to be treasured

Today the sunlit oracle card that came out was

Description :

your sunlit memory today is bringing you MEMORIES of all the wonderful sunfilled times in your life in the past and in the future Memories that are in your heart and caught on film to enjoy forever. Life is like a camera if you make a memory and it turns out bad just take another shot and make a new memory to keep forever. Your album is filled with great memories and more are on the way.

Seeing this card this morning it brings up lots of different emotions and areas of what memories mean to me.

My passion for photography started with a beautiful memory of part of my life and family when I was a single woman living alone with my beautiful Husky Misty by my side. Way back then it was the start of the internet and digital camera I being low on cash thought that getting one of those fancy little gadgets that took photos and doubled as a web cam was a great idea.

My first photo good photo was of Misty … I loved that dog and still do she is long gone now but will forever be in my memory and because of my new found passion I have many photos of her to remember her by.

I urge everyone to get many photos of their family and friends and fur kids to remember them by and at least once get some professional photos done even of the pets I did get some of Misty done the photographer thought I was crazy but he did it was not thought of much back then to photograph your pets but she was my child and one of my best friends I am so glad I did.

Memories are a beautiful thing but they can also haunt you and keep you back from memories of the beautiful Misty that drifts me through meeting a man and although that was a wonderful time and worthy of remembering it can also and probably still does in a way keep me from moving on because that memory is so deep and was great you can cling to it and think that it was the best memory and now it’s over nothing can compare so why try for something new with someone new but we should it will never compare to what has gone before but it could be wonderfully different and bring a lot of happy new memories .

Using memories where you have moved on like how when Misty went over the rainbow bridge I never thought I would find another kindred soul like her but eventually I was forced by family to bring a beautiful puppy into my memory banks and that was Ellie and I am so glad I did she was beautiful and an amazing kindred spirit.

Now Billy is filling my days with new wonder and laughter he is still a puppy at heart only being around a year old and as he gets his confidence back he is a great soul and a very funny young boy.

The memories card also reminds me of one of my major goals for this year.

To improve my memory.

I have written this goal in my 2013 Incredible Life Journal by Leonie Dawson
And also have it up in my New Years Goals Package
(it’s never to late to start either of those just click on the words to find out more)

I have bit the bullet and paid for membership with the Luminosity website for brain training and although you are playing games it really does highlight how bad I have become at basic things like quick maths and finding words quickly even working on remembering names and orders in a mock café they are fun but really do work the brain .

I want to be able to remember the extra details that photos can’t provide so when I look at that photo of Misty I will remember always that the day before she had run away down the street and I had to chase her into someone’s backyard to get her back… lovely soul Misty but a husky she knew how to run and not how to get back home.

So when I post a oracle card each day for everyone on my Rainbow Farm Photography Facebook page and when I do indepths readings for you I urge you to read the reading and meaning I give you but also really look at the image and meaning and see what comes up in your own mind to see what each card means for you .. what your memory brings to you that you need to concentrate on and work through you would be surprised how your insight will guide you through to what you need to be working on.

What does this card mean to you ??? Would love to find out how it relates to you and your day

Giving your heart always even after a loss

I can’t believe it has only been just over a week since the loss of Miss Ellie

PP 070912 ellie1

Click on Miss Ellie to see the blog post tribute to her

I felt her loss deeply and I was seeing her everywhere it was painful and although I felt guilt in it I decided to get another dog but I really wasn’t up for the puppy stage.

I thought it would be a great way to honour Ellie as well as a good way to not find another dog just like her was to get a rescue dog one that was not wanted and may end up being put to sleep.

I began the search and my heart broke even more with the abundance of dogs and cats just in my area that were abandoned and needed homes.

Those beautiful eyes all screamed out take me home and love me.

I picked out a few that sensibly would be more of a fit to my family and to what I liked in a dog and let fate play it’s hand I called for one dog and didn’t get an answer so moved onto the next one a beautiful sad soul named BILL.

PP Bill 001

He was in the Donnybrook Dog Rescue with a lot of other dogs but he spoke to me and on the Monday public holiday I bundled the kids up and we went for a drive.

Bill was beautiful but his story was not he had been badly abused he came in on boxing day riddled with fleas, his collar had been a string of barbed wire and apparently his previous owners had used him as a play toy to throw darts at. I felt for Bill but I did wonder if he would be a good fit for our family with two energized loud children to contend with he may be too timid to cope.
I then was sensible and had a look at a couple of the other dogs but none of them had the soul of Bill he was the one the choice had already been made I just didn’t know it.

It has taken him a while to settle in but he is slowly coming out of his shell and fitting in well with the family he is such a joy to own he hardly barks he always wants to be with you so he can walk with me off lead and not go to far.

Bill who we have now named Billy will never replace Ellie she will always be in my heart along with the other beautiful dogs that have been in my life but I am glad that through her loss I was able to give Billy some hope of a better life.

It was appropriate today as I wanted to write this post that I pulled out the Loss card for the Sunlit Oracle Card of the day.

It is hard to lose a loved one and we must grieve and continue to grieve but also not shut ourselves off to new loves because there may be someone out there that needs your love right now.

Tragedy hit Rainbow Farm this Week

Living on a farm has its many beautiful and amazing joys but there is also a price for all that nature and beauty.

There are many dangers having beautiful bushland so close to the Rainbow farm house and unfortunately we here at Rainbow farm felt this danger too closely Thursday this last week.

Who knew that when I saw that Robin I mentioned in last Sunday’s post  “All before 7am on a Sunday”   that the change on the way would be such a big one.

During the late afternoon/ night on Wednesday our beautiful Miss Ellie must of cornered a snake under the bushes in the back yard.

PP 070912 ellie1

When I awoke on Thursday morning it was with great sadness that I found Miss Ellie already passed away sleeping in her usual spot out the front of the house. She looked peaceful and undisturbed so I don’t think she suffered too much but it was a terrible loss.

It is so hard to lose any loved one so suddenly and in the prime of their lives.

Miss Ellie was one of the family she was my child yes a furry one but my child all the same.

I probably had more contact with her than any other member of the family because she was always here for me even when the rainbow farm kids were at school or at their fathers.

I am now experiencing the aftermath of hearing and seeing her when I know she is gone and going to do things for or with her then remembering she isn’t here anymore. It will take some time to get over and you go through that terrible time of not wanting to get over and forget.

To some she may of just been a “dog” but as with all my dogs that have come and gone she will be remembered and grieved for and I am so lucky to have had the passion for photography so I have many images of her to remember her.

Here is a little video I have put together of all those beautiful memories with Miss Ellie ..

I urge you all to make sure you have some good photos of your animals they are your family and you will cherish them after they have gone.

My goal to publish a book by the end of this year has now taken on a new turn with the new goal to make that book one dedicated to Miss Ellie and to put her into the hearts of children everywhere to be forever remembered for her wonderful personality and how she made all our lives better.

She is now up there playing with all the beautiful Dogs that have gone over the Rainbow Bridge and I know she is happy.

All before 7am on a Sunday

Wow what a rush this morning has been and I mean a rush in a energizing get up and go way.

This morning started as any other with my waking to the dawn usually at least ten minutes before my alarm clock goes off.

Since the sun is getting up a bit later these mornings I have still been getting up at the same EARLY time and enjoying the quiet of the house with the rainbow farm children still sound asleep.

I take this time to sit with my mocked up (yes I am getting to publish them soon) set of Sunlit Oracle Cards and I choose a card for the day that relates to us all not just to me but often it really resonates with myself as well.

Today’s card is …

Believe in You

FBQS 230113 believe in you

The Description of this card is …

your sunlit memory today is bringing you Believe In YOU embrace all that is you and love yourself the first step to happiness is loving yourself and believing you are beautiful and amazing just the way you are. Go out into that open space and just twirl around like a kid for awhile feel the freedom of you. When you believe in yourself and don’t doubt your intuition you will go further than you ever thought possible.

After a busy and doubting myself week this card really was a great reminder to Believe in myself and it made me smile as I headed out to the sunrise.

Miss Ellie was waiting patiently for me to go for our walk.

The Beautiful Miss Ellie

The Beautiful Miss Ellie

As I was putting on Ellie’s lead I noticed the scarlet robin had come to say good morning didn’t think too much more of it until I got down to the front gate probably 250 metres from the house and there was the Robin again waiting where I stand to take the sunrise shots. He sat there for about five minutes I asked him what he had to tell me today as it is thought that seeing a Robin means change is on the way. I was going to take a photo but he is too smart I only had to reach for the camera and he was off.

Bringing the wings of change

After getting the Believe in You card and seeing the Robin I was thinking yes I need to change the way I had been thinking during the week worrying that what I was doing wasn’t good enough that I wasn’t doing enough there will be more on this in another post which hasn’t been done because I was too busy worrying about the post being good enough and the week going well.

The sunrise was amazing .. beautiful… inspiring .. energizing .. and healing

SRS24323 240213 sunrise

I came back to upload the sunrise pics and checked my emails and ofcourse get lost in facebook for a bit.

In checking my emails I saw a wonderful list of blog posts from the wonderful goddesses that are part of my goddess circle on Leonie Dawson’s groups page.

So many beautiful and inspiring blog posts and a few of them were connecting with the card that had come out today “Believe in YOU”

The lovely Jacqueline Gates posted about Resistance and I found it very inspiring and true to know that we resist against the New You we want to be and that Belief in ourselves has something to do with that…

Here is her wonderful post read it ..

The Gorgeous Sarah from Relentlessly Positive posted about how we are afraid to go out of our comfort zone and are resistant as Jacqueline tells us to changing our lives for the better because we don’t believe in ourselves it is time we did and I know I am always doing this too and a little too much this last week.

Check out her wonderful post here and I am going to be following up with the book she is reading and do the challenge with her.

All this and before 7am on a Sunday morning.

What a great way to start the day with such inspiring and healing energy from the sun and from such wonderful caring people that reach out of their comfort zones and share their gifts.

I have been quiet with posts this week because I was doubting myself and wanting it all to go in a perfect alignment of posts couldn’t do one post before the other but I have realized that I just have to believe in my journey and it is not the end of the world if that post is in the wrong order and I don’t have to do a big apology for getting it out late or out of order … the getting it out there is the main objective and in years to come when people go back to read that post it will be the words written that resonate not the date it was written.

So write your story and BELIEVE IN YOU
